Admissions has gotten more difficult in the last fewApr 28 2004Other
Admissions has gotten more difficult in the last few years. They are trying to control the size of the school by restricting the number of incoming freshment to the best and the brightest. Many schools stop taking applications before Thanksgiving of the prior year. My advise: turn in your application EARLY. The earlier the better; apply your self during the SAT's. If you did not do well the first time, take them again.

Purdue is going to be more difficult to getNov 17 2003Electrical Engineering
Purdue is going to be more difficult to get into within the next few years. They are limiting the number of entries, because they want to keep the professor/student ratio in the favor of the students. Do well on the ACT, especially math and science if you plan on going into any kind of engineering. Transferring from another College/University was not a problem in my case.
ACT: 27 Male

Apply to other schools as well, because if your problem is financial aid and you come for a scholarship interview, they WILL drill you on their competition, and if you say "well, I'm coming here..." they're less likely to give you more money. Get at least a 1200 on your SATs, try for nothing lower than a 550 on either section (600 if possible). They like grades in high school too, so don't let people tell you that only SATs matter. Apply early, like in October, because Purdue has a thing called rolling admissions where you will hear back in four weeks. If you apply early, you could hear back in three, and it's always nice to know you have an option by November.
